Trained under the auspice of College of Anesthetists in Ireland, Dr. Mubarak completed her Anesthesia and Basic Pain Training in 2014. Upon completion of training, Dr. Mubarak joined the pain fellowship training program at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, completing in 2015. Training in Ireland and Sydney included chronic pain management using a holistic approach with rehabilitation for chronic pain problems.

Sydney Teaching University Hospital is a tertiary pain referral centre for treating pelvic pain in women. Working with neurology specialists as part of a pain team in Sydney allowed Dr. Mubarak to gain vast experience in managing patients with chronic pain and neurology disorders such as multiple sclerosis, post stroke pain and headaches. Focusing on the challenging field of conversion of high doses of opioids and methadone in the presence of pain, Dr. Mubarak’s expertise was developed from training with Drug and Alcohol consultants during the fellowship program in Australia.

With an interest to further her skills in pain management with intention to specialise in cancer pain and neuromodulation, Dr. Mubarak joined another pain fellowship program in Leeds in 2016. In 2017, Mubarak’s passion for pain management extended to the USA, where she completed the Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) examination.

With a medical career that spans Ireland, the UK, Australia and the USA, Dr. Mubarak’s special interests in pelvic pain include endometriosis, prostate and pelvic inflammatory disease related pain, penile pain and vulvodynia pain.

Other specialisms of Dr. Mubarak include Costochondritis, non-cardiac chest pain, post shingles pain, cancer related pain, and post-surgical neuropathic knee and abdominal pain treatment. Having performed thousands of spinal nerve roots and facet injections, Dr. Mubarak is an expert in her field.
